Honkai Star Rail 2.2 Release Date and Everything Confirmed in Livestream

Honkai: Star Rail fans have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming Version 2.2 update, titled "Then Wake to Weep." The recent livestream has revealed a wealth of new content and exciting changes coming to the game. The update is set to release on May 8, 2024. Let's take a closer look at everything announced during the special program.

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 Livestream Overview

New Characters 

Version 2.2 will introduce two new characters for players to obtain:

1. Boothill - This 5-star Physical element character follows the path of Hunt. As a cyborg cowboy, Boothill specializes in dueling enemies and can apply Physical Weakness to his targets. His skills allow him to initiate a Duel with a single enemy, increasing the damage dealt and received by both parties.
2. Robin - A 5-star Physical element character on the path of Harmony, Robin is a Halovian singer born in Penacony. She supports the team by increasing their damage output through her Concerto ability. When triggered, Concerto enables all allies to take immediate action and deal additional damage while it is active.

Character Banners

The Version 2.2 update will be divided into two phases, each featuring different character banners:

This allows players to pull for both new characters, as well as another chance to obtain Topaz and Fu Xuan if they missed them previously.

New Light Cones

Several new Light Cones will be available in Version 2.2, providing players with more options to strengthen their characters:

1. Sailing Towards A Second Life - Boothill's signature Light Cone
2. Flowing Nightglow - Robin's signature Light Cone
3. Boundless Choreo - A new 4-star Light Cone
4. For Tomorrow's Journey - A free Light Cone obtainable through an in-game event

New Boss and Enemies

Prepare to face off against a formidable new boss and enemies in Version 2.2:

1. Echo of War - "Harmonious Choir" The Great Septimus: This boss introduces a multi-layered weakness mechanic, adding a new level of strategy to combat.
2. Stagnant Shadow - Shape of Duty: Players can obtain the new Physical-Type Character Ascension Material "IPC Work Permit" by successfully challenging this stage.
3. Calyx (The Hunt): Trailblazers can acquire new Trace Materials for the Path of The Hunt by completing new Calyx (Crimson) stages.
4. Normal Enemy: New regular enemies will be added to keep battles fresh and engaging.

New Missions and Events

Version 2.2 brings a continuation of the main story and a variety of events for players to enjoy:

1. Trailblaze Mission - The Fool Always Rings Twice: The story in Penacony reaches its climax, promising revelations and intense battles.
2. Events:
   • Clockie: Dreamjoy Memoir: Help the Clock Studios overcome a crisis and become their director.
   • The Legend of Galactic Baseballer: Test your skills in Giovanni's game, defeat enemies, craft powerful weapons, and become the ultimate Galactic Baseballer. This event rewards players with the new 4-star Light Cone, For Tomorrow's Journey.
   • All About Boothill...: Learn more about the mysterious interstellar cowboy and take on assignments from various factions.
   • Gift of Odyssey: Log in for 7 days during Version 2.2 to receive 10 Star Rail Special Passes.
   • Planar Fissure and Garden of Plenty: Additional events to participate in for rewards.

New Locations

Version 2.2 expands the game world with three new areas for players to discover:

1. Dreamflux Reef
2. SoulGlad Festivity Auditions
3. Penacony Grand Theater

Each location promises unique visuals, characters, and lore to uncover.
