The Cobbler's Workshop is a backyard extension building that can be constructed on Level 2 Burgage Plots. It converts leather into shoes, which are essential for fulfilling the clothing requirements of higher-level plots and can also be exported for profit.

To construct a Cobbler's Workshop, players must first upgrade their Burgage Plots to Level 2. The workshop requires 5 planks and 5 units of regional wealth to build. It is important to note that the Cobbler's Workshop can only be added during the initial placement of a Burgage Plot by extending its borders.

To produce shoes, the Cobbler's Workshop requires a steady supply of leather. There are three main ways to obtain leather in Manor Lords:

  1. Building a Tannery: Construct a Tannery using 4 units of timber. The Tannery can convert hides, obtained from hunting camps, into leather. It is recommended to place the Tannery near the hunting camp to minimize transportation time.
  2. Goat Shed Backyard Extension: Building a Goat Shed, which costs 25 units of regional wealth, provides a consistent supply of hides that can be turned into leather.
  3. Importing via Trading Post: Leather can be imported through the Trading Post, but this method is only recommended if the player intends to export the produced shoes for a profit.

Assigning Workers to the Cobbler's Workshop

Families living in a Burgage Plot with a Cobbler's Workshop are designated as artisans. These artisans cannot be assigned to other jobs and will solely focus on producing shoes. Even if leather is unavailable, they will not return to the unassigned worker pool.

Shoes serve two primary purposes in the game:

  1. Meeting Clothing Requirements: As Burgage Plots are upgraded to Level 2 and 3, the residents' requirements increase. One of these requirements is access to a Clothing Stall in the marketplace that sells either Shoes, Cloaks, or Clothes.
  2. Exporting for Profit: Surplus shoes can be traded at the Trading Post to boost the settlement's regional wealth. However, this should only be done if there is a significant excess of shoes.
