How to Increase Population in Manor Lords?

In Manor Lords, increasing your population is one of the most important ascpects for expanding your settlement and advancing towards the ultimate goal of becoming a Large Town. Families are the foundation of your settlement in Manor Lords. They are the workforce responsible for constructing buildings, working in assigned roles, and contributing to the growth and prosperity of your territory. Male villagers also form the core of your militia, making families an essential resource for defense and conquest. This guide will explain how to attract more families and boost your population size.

How to Increase Population

To increase your population size and attract more families, two key factors must be addressed: maintaining a high Approval Rating and providing adequate Living Space through Burgage Plots.

Maintain High Approval Rating

Your settlement's Approval Rating directly impacts the number of new families that will join or leave each month. The higher the rating, the more families will be attracted to your village. Here's how Approval Rating affects population growth:

• 75-100% Approval: +2 families per month
• 50-74% Approval: +1 family per month
• 25-49% Approval: No change in population
• 0-24% Approval: -1 family per month

To maintain a high Approval Rating, ensure your citizens have access to essential amenities such as water (Wells), places of worship (Churches), and a well-stocked Marketplace with stalls for food, firewood, and clothing. Avoid excessive taxation, as it can negatively impact the Approval Rating.

Provide Living Space

In addition to a high Approval Rating, you must provide enough Living Space through Burgage Plots to accommodate new families. Build new Burgage Plots and upgrade existing ones to Level 3 to create more housing opportunities.

Families consist of a Husband, Wife, and Son, meaning each new family adds three individuals to your population count. Additionally, you can expand the Living Space of existing Burgage Plots to double the number of families they can accommodate.

Monitor Living Space Availability

To keep track of available Living Space, check the house icon in the upper-left corner of the screen or hold the Tab key to view occupied and unoccupied Burgage Plots. Build additional Burgage Plots as needed to ensure sufficient housing for incoming families.
