Forester's Hut plays a crucial role in ensuring a sustainable supply of logs for various structures and resources, such as firewood and planks. As the settlement grows and the demand for wood increases, it becomes essential to replenish the depleted forests. This guide will explain how to build and optimize the Forester's Hut for efficient log production in Manor Lords.

Building the Forester's Hut

To construct a Forester's Hut, players must have two logs available in their inventory. The building can be found under the construction menu. Once built, assign a family to the Forester's Hut, and they will begin replanting trees in the surrounding area.

It is important to note that the Forester's Hut is a seasonal structure, functioning only from March to October. During the winter months, the assigned family will be unable to plant trees due to the frozen ground. Consider reassigning them to other tasks during this period to maximize efficiency.

Optimizing the Forester's Hut

To use the Forester's Hut optimally and maintain a steady flow of logs, follow these tips:

  1. Location: Build the Forester's Hut near other wood production structures, such as Logging Camps, Woodcutter's Lodges, and Sawpits. This proximity will facilitate the seamless transfer of resources and make it easier to identify areas in need of reforestation.
  2. Assign Multiple Families: Assign more than one family to the Forester's Hut to increase the rate of replanting. This will help balance the rate of deforestation caused by the Logging Camps and Woodcutter's Lodges.
  3. Limit Work Area: Use the "Limit Work Area" feature to allocate specific areas for the foresters to plant trees. This will prevent them from wasting time searching for open spaces within the settlement and ensure focused reforestation efforts.
  4. Rotate Planting Areas: Trees in Manor Lords take up to two years to grow fully. To maintain a consistent supply of logs, cycle through different areas for cutting down trees, replanting, and allowing growth. Change the allocated planting areas at least once a year and consider building multiple Forester's Huts to cover larger areas.
  5. Avoid Berry Deposits: Keep in mind that replanting trees does not replenish berry deposits. Ensure that the Woodcutter's Lodges and Logging Camps do not cut down trees near these food sources to prevent losing them permanently.

Troubleshooting the Forester's Hut

Some players have reported issues with the Forester's Hut, such as foresters remaining idle despite available work. If this occurs, check the current season to ensure it is not winter, as tree planting is not possible during this time. Additionally, try reassigning the work area for the foresters, as they may have difficulty identifying the designated space.
