In Manor Lords, players can enact policies that serve as guidelines for their settlements. Policies offer benefits with trade-offs, allowing players to shape their territories according to their priorities. This guide will cover all available policies, how to unlock them, and their implementation.
Policies in Manor Lords
Currently, Manor Lords features two policies that players can utilize:
Hunting Grounds:
- Allows wild animals on rich deposits to breed twice as fast.
- Crops yield is reduced by 50%.
Strict Fasting:
- Citizens skip every fifth meal, reducing food consumption.
- Causes a decrease in approval rating.
These policies present choices with advantages and drawbacks, enabling players to adapt their strategies based on their settlement's needs and playstyle.

How to Unlock Policies
To access and enact policies, players must first construct a Manor in their settlement. Manors serve as administrative buildings, granting the ability to impose policies on the citizenry. To build a Manor, the following resources are required:
- Timber x5
- Planks x20
- Stone x25
Once the Manor is constructed, players can navigate to the Policies tab in the main menu to view and enact available policies.

Using Policies in Manor Lords
Step 1: Access the Policies Tab - In the main menu, locate the Policies tab between the Development and Production sections.
Step 2: Select a Policy - Choose the desired policy from the list. Initially, only the Hunting Grounds and Strict Fasting policies will be available.
Step 3: Enact the Policy - Click on the policy icon to enact it. A checkmark will appear below the icon, indicating the policy is currently in effect.
Turning Off Policies: If a policy no longer suits your needs, simply click on the enacted policy again to turn it off. This flexibility allows players to adapt their strategies as their settlement evolves.
Region-Specific Policies: It is important to note that policies are region-specific. To enact a policy in another region under your control, a Manor must be built in that respective settlement.
