Manor Lords Sheep Farming Guide: How to Get and Raise Sheep
Discover how to purchase, breed, and utilize sheep in Manor Lords. This guide covers wool production, clothes crafting, field fertilization, and lamb mechanics.
Sheep are one of the most useful livestock in Manor Lords. They provide wool for making yarn and clothes, and can help fertilize farm fields. This guide will explain how to get sheep, breed them, and put them to work in the settlement.
Getting Sheep in Manor Lords
Adding sheep to a Manor Lords town requires several steps. First, sheep must be purchased from a Livestock Trading Post. This costs Regional Wealth, 30 coins per sheep, so make sure to have enough saved up.
Next, the sheep need somewhere to live. Build a Sheep Farm which includes a small pasture area for up to 5 sheep. For larger herds, construct additional Pastures. Sheep farms also allow workers to shear the sheep for their wool.

Processing Wool into Yarn and Clothes
To make use of the wool produced by the sheep, a chain of buildings must be constructed:
- Weaver's Workshop - Processes the raw wool from sheep into yarn. (Costs 4 timber to build)
- Dyer's Workshop - Makes dyes from berries. Required to color the yarn. (Costs 2 timber)
- Tailor's Workshop - An extension of a level 2 Burgage Plot house. Crafts the yarn and dye it into clothing like cloaks. (Costs 5 Regional Wealth and 5 planks)
So in total, to get from sheep to wearable clothes, the town needs a Livestock Trading Post, Sheep Farm, Weaver's Workshop, Dyer's Workshop, and Tailor's Workshop. It is a significant investment but creates a valuable goods chain.

Using Sheep to Fertilize Farm Fields
Sheep have another important role in a Manor Lords town - fertilizing crops. To utilize them this way, first research the "Fertilization" technology from the Development menu. This requires already having researched Heavy Plow.
Once Fertilization is unlocked, farm fields can be upgraded with fences for 5 planks. Then when that field is left fallow, the sheep can graze in it like a pasture. While there, the sheep will gradually restore that field's fertility to its maximum level. This helps boost subsequent crop yields.
