Manor Lords: What to do with Dead Oxen?
Confused about what to do with a dead Oxen in Manor Lords? Find out everything you need to know about it.
In Manor Lords, oxen play a crucial role in the transportation of goods within your settlement. However, like all living creatures, oxen are not immortal - not even in Manor Lords. In this guide, you will find all the information you need to know about what you should do in case an Ox dies in your settlement.
What to Do When Your Oxen Die
When an ox dies in Manor Lords, there are no specific prompts or mechanics to remove its carcass through a burial process or a dedicated corpse pit. The only available options are:
- Load a previous save point, effectively undoing the ox's death.
- Demolish the Hitching Post or Stable where the ox was housed, which will permanently remove its remains from your settlement.
It is important to note that removing a dead ox's carcass is essential, as its presence can hinder the efficient functioning of your settlement.

Replacing a Dead Ox
Given the importance of oxen in Manor Lords, it is crucial to replace any deceased animals promptly. Players can purchase a new ox for 20 Regional Wealth from a Hitching Post or acquire one through a Livestock Trading Post.
In the unfortunate event that players are unable to acquire oxen through Hitching Posts or Livestock Trading Posts, the only available options in the current Early Access version are:
- Load an older save file, which may revert progress but restore the availability of oxen.
- Completely restart the settlement, beginning the journey anew with the opportunity to obtain oxen.
