Pokemon GO May 2024 Community Day Guide: Bounsweet, Bonuses, and Event Details

The May 2024 Community Day in Pokemon GO will feature Bounsweet. This event will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this period, Bounsweet will appear more frequently in the wild, and players will have a chance to encounter its Shiny form.

Featured Pokemon and Attack

Bounsweet will be the star of the May 2024 Community Day. Trainers who evolve Steenee (Bounsweet's Evolution) during the event or up to five hours afterward will obtain a Tsareena that knows the Charged Attack High Jump Kick.

Community Day Special Research Story and Event Bonuses

A Bounsweet Community Day–exclusive Special Research story will be available for purchase at US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in the local currency). Tickets for the Special Research story will be announced soon. Trainers can also gift tickets to friends with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.

During the May 2024 Community Day, the following bonuses will be active:

• 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
• 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event
• 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon
• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
• Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
• Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise
• One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day (from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time)
• Trades will require 50% less Stardust (from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time)

Bonus Raid Battles and Field Research

After the three-hour Community Day event ends, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time, Trainers can participate in special four-star Raid Battles featuring Steenee. Claiming victory in one of these raids will cause more Bounsweet to appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. These Bounsweet will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as those that appear during the three-hour event period.

May Community Day–themed Field Research tasks will be available, rewarding players with Stardust, Great Balls, and additional encounters with Bounsweet and more. Additionally, PokéStop Showcases will be present at different PokéStops during the event.
